Background:
I bought my car in October of my freshman year when I was 15. I paid for
it with my own cash. It is my first car and I love it. I pay for everything
for my car and then $1400 dollars in tuition and books that can range
around $400.
I first saw the car when my neighbor who bought and sold cars on the side
of his other job drove it into his garage. I didn't care if it was a v6
or v8 or 5-speed or automatic because I really didn't know anything much
about cars to care. I talked to my parents about it and asked my neighbor
how much he would sell it for. I bought it for $3500 and later found out
the motor was a replacement motor put in by Ford in 2000. This car was
a great deal.
I started looking at aftermarket parts for it right away and started learning
all I could about Mustangs and engines and all other things that have
to do with cars, I learned quick. Everything in the car but the cd player
and tint I put on myself with a little help from friends. The first thing
I did was take off the air silencer and then I bought a K&N filter.
From there I made a cold air intake and that was fine for then. For Christmas
I got the Kenwood CD player and I bought the Pioneer speakers after that.
Then modding for my car slowed down a lot because I was busy with work
and school and sports and my parents pretty much said no more money could
be spent. Then after waiting for what seemed like forever I went to World
Ford Challenge 7 at Gateway Raceway and bought a UPR cold air intake and
a Steeda Tri-Ax shifter. Both were on my car in less than a week and I
put them on. Then two weeks later I ordered my Flowmaster setup and put
that on within a week from getting it. I am happy with the mods I have
done so far.
As for what I have planned: I only have a year left at home because this
is my senior year and I will be leaving to go to either college or the
Marine Corps out of high school. But I am working on getting an old 302
block and putting all new internals and a 347 or 331 stroker kit on it
and Vortech S-trim. Very expensive but cars are my only hobby and this
is what I love. I would like to improve the performance of the sixer with
some 3.73 gears and t-lok along with a programmer or a chip. I'm not into
looks so much for a car, I would take speed over a show car any day. I
hate rice and I hate imports and if you have something bad to say about
America, you better not tell me.
I love learning about cars and working on them. I also love to help people
out with anything they need. Never be afraid to ask a question, everyone
started the same place you did. Thanks guys for making my Stang the Stang
of the Month.
