I have seen a lot of posts on boards
about installing fogs on max wired cars. 1994 models through early 1997 come
from the factory max wired.
Here is what you need:
- Fog Light 40a relay
- Fog Light Switch ($25 from Ford Dealer)
- Fog Lights with brakets
You can buy the complete kit off of E-bay.
Note, modifications will be required if you buy 99+ Fog Lights/Brackets for
your 94-96.
Here is what you do:
Open the console lid. You will see 2 rubber
plugs up toward the front.
Remove them to see 2 screws. Remove the screws and then pull out the inside
liner of the console.
Next, gently pop out the front coin holder (the one closest to the shifter)
while making sure not to scratch your interior.
Inside of the opened console area you will
see 2 harness plugs fastened to one side. One is for the convertible top, and
the other is for your fog lights. Just plug your new fog light switch into the
harness. I believe the purple is for the vert top. Don't worry you can't mess
it up cause the fog light switch only fits one of the harnesses. Plug the switch
into the harness and install the switch into the coin holder slot.
Next, bolt up the foglights to the bumper
reinforcement. The holes should already be drilled. Then, you'll see the wiring
hanging there by your fender. Just plug it into your fog light bulbs and you're
finished installing the lights and wiring.
Go to the fuse panel under the hood located
near the driver fender between the battery and strut mount. Open this up and
you'll see the relays in the last row. Plug in the 40a relay in to the last
spot on the right (toward the driver side of the fender). The spot is number
19 in the owners manual.
Finally, turn on your lights. If all was
done correctly your fog lights should be on now!
