What compression ratio should I get a motor built to if I wanted to supercharge it down the road? I think stock on my 96 is 10:1 (correct me if i am wrong), so should i lower it to around 8:1 with 10lbs. of boost? -a1

9.3 or 9.4 or something close to that.

I'd stay stock. Eval has 8.0:1 and he's not happy with the power he made with 10psi of boost.

    Stay with stock CR...

correction: i am happy its a whole lot of ****ing power...300hp at the flywheel can't complain...but i have the 10lb pulley and the lower the CR, the less boost you use...so i hit 9lbs.

if you go low compression get a HIGH pulley to balance

if you had stock CR, you'd a been much higher.

don't lie. You said you weren't that happy at the tune. ;)

If you'd a had the stock cr, you'd be pushing over 300rwhp. look at Jose. ;)

There's a happy medium on CR vs boost. You don't want a CR so low that the engine is a dog... but you want it low enough to use pump gas.

More boost=more heat=less effective. SO keep all things in perspective. I would go with a forged setup with a moderate compression (8.5 to 9 +/-) if I was going to run higher boost numbers.

justang: are u going for a fast n/a set up? or u plannin to blow/spray/boost that thing later?

im eager to see someone hit 300rwhp out of a full N/A application i'd love to see that.

    Fast NA.

300rwhp NA looks like it's on it's way. I'll probably end up with 300bhp.... I hope *crosses fingers*

those engines have little to do with our stock motors... what is your point? just that low compression doesn't mean that much less power?
