Smaller Torque Converter for 3.8/4.2 with 4R70W.

Tom Yentzer at SuperSixMotorSports told me I'll need a torque converter with a higher stall to go with the camshaft. It doesn't have to be a 3000 stall, but it has to be at least 2400-2600. I know there has to be a person here with a big power V6 build that used a small converter. Unless all...

Smaller Torque Converter for 3.8/4.2 with 4R70W.

So I have a 2000 V6 Mustang and the engine is completely torn down. I'm gonna rebuild it as a naturally aspirated 4.2 stroker with a 224/230 cam from SSM, P&P heads, and P&P intakes. I'm told that I'll need a smaller torque converter for this to work properly. However, every 10" converter I can...

    Anyone use this cam?

Any reason why no one seems to run a 230 or 240 duration cam in a V6? I emailed SSM a couple days back and still no reply. I know people who run street cars cammed with a lot of duration and lift and they don't need to turn 7000 RPMs to make the engine work properly. As a matter of fact if they...

    Anyone use this cam?

How did you get a cam with over .600 lift? I've never seen one for a V6. Did you have SSM custom make it for you? Could you give me the specs of your cam? How much duration does it have at .050? What's the LSA? Do you have any sound clips? I'd like to hear how it sounds.

    Anyone use this cam?

I'm gonna take a 4.2 out of a truck, bore it .030 over, and then I'm either gonna put a m112 blower on it or shoot at least a 100 shot to it, maybe more. Down the road I may go procharger or turbo, but because of money issues not at the moment. Probably gonna do forged pistons and whatnot. It...

    m112 blower

You should just fab your own plate or get someone who can to do it. You might need to use iron instead of aluminum unless you know someone who can weld aluminum. At the end of the day it's just a plate. It's not rocket science. You can use the intake ports to learn where you need to put the...

    Anyone use this cam?

http://www.supersixmotorsports.com/_pdf/3.8_4.2/SSM2013catrev1CamsRockerArms.pdf If you look at this pdf you'll see a wide array of cams you can use for the 3.8 V6. One, in particular, is intriguing to me. It's the last one on the list. Duration: 240/250 Lift: .57/.59 Rockers: 1.7 LSA...

Chevy 3.8 sound vs. Ford 3.8 sound?

Do these engines sound the same? I've read that the Ford 3.8 was just a ripoff of the Buick V6. If that's the case wouldn't these engines essentially be the same? Wouldn't they produce the same sound if they had the same exhaust? The reason I'm asking is because I found a video of a cammed 3.8...

Should I take a chance and buy this 8.8 rear end?

Yeah I'm planning on new UCA/LCAs. I'm trying to decide what's better for me: 4.10s or 3.73s? I really want to go with 4.10s but I'm nervous about the gas mileage I'll get.

Should I take a chance and buy this 8.8 rear end?

Well, I have great news guys. I went scouring through a couple Pull A Part junkyards around my area and I found 2 GTs. One was a beautiful 2000 GT custom-painted candy orange. The cup holders were even candy orange. I feel really bad for the owner because it got wrecked to **** and ended up in a...

Should I take a chance and buy this 8.8 rear end?

I tried to offer him 300 and he said 400. I know it's kinda expensive but I've maybe come across 2 8.8 rear ends since 2014 when I got my Mustang, as far as ones that are made for my car. I can find a crown vic one pretty easy but I'd have to cut and weld it to fit. I see Foxbody 8.8s all the...

Should I take a chance and buy this 8.8 rear end?

So I found this 8.8 rear end from a 2000 GT Mustang on Craigslist: https://batonrouge.craigslist.org/pts/5909682617.html It has 4.10 gears, gt500 clutches, and stock axles. It also has a nice brace welded to the main housing for extra support. The rear end had 100 miles on it with those new...

Flare cap for MAC LT headers?

I bought some MAC LT headers for my 2000 V6 and they have flare tube fittings on the front tubes of the headers. I have gone to True Hardware, Colburn's, Lowe's, Autozone, O'reilly's, Advance Auto Parts, and Napa. None of them have a flarecap that fits on the tube. I had changed my passenger...
