    Hi Guys,

First, looking for some in site on how much nitrous a stock 3.8 can handle. I would like to run the Zex kit and 100 - 125 shot if possible. However, I can not find exact answers on the forums regarding any type of max for this engine and how I can pull timing. I don't want to break a rod. I'm assuming they are typical powdered metal type. Hopefully the pistons are at least hypereutectic. I normally tune my own stuff using megasquirt on the dyno with a motor that I built but I just don't want to get into the whole stand alone deal with this car. It is my wife's and I'm just trying to give it more power as easily as possible. HP tuners does not have any support, Bama does not offer nitrous tunes anymore due to liability blah, blah blah. Looking for someone who has had alot of experience with this topic. I'd hate to have to buy a kit, pay for a tune just for a small 50 shot too. I welcome any advise you may have.

And you've answered not one of my questions. Stop wasting my time. Offer your ignorance on someone else's thread please. Move along now

Oh gosh, a newbie with an attitude.
Who the hell you think you are, trying to boss me around?
I'm not the ignorant one, you are the one asking, not me.
I gave you a link as a source of places that might answer your question.
    Chill, Jill.

I'm on the v6 forum because the google search and multiple phone calls to various popular nitrous kit suppliers and tuning software manufacturers were all dead end paths.
I requested someone with knowledge and asked specific questions.
You sent me a link from a google search where you even spelled nitrous wrong.
I'll let you do the math

You had already answered your own question!
You asked all these questions, I posted a link, if you did not like it, you had the option of simply ignoring it.
Then, because of your Little Man Syndrome, you start a flame war, and make an issue because I misspelled a word.
    Who cares?
First day, and you show your colors.
Another millennial know it all without a clue!

Haha. Not a millennial. Am 42 and a Enginemasters challenge competitor / car enthusiast. A chevy guy tho.
You know max spray on stock 3.8 yes or no.

Just go play with your car like a good little boy, even though you are an old guy.
If you are such an engine master, why don't you figure it out yourself?
Just pump laughing gas into your 6 cylinder, until it blows up.
Then you will have had the experience and really know what you are talking about.
Then, go to the off topic section, and mess with those guys.
You won't be so superior then!!

By the way, you, yourself could use a little help in spelling, capitalization, and overall syntax.
    But who cares??

To answer your question, 150 shot is generally considered the max for the 3.8's and 100 shot is generally considered safe.

Use a progressive controller, 93 octane and pull out about 4 degrees of timing to be safe and it should run low 13s on a 100 shot.

There's your recipe. Now stop with the childish keyboard pissing contest.

Have fun, be safe and sensible and your motor should last quite a while.

To follow up, the timing is not mechanicalme adjustable on these. Get an SCT handheld or quarter horse chip with binary editor software to adjust timing and fueling.

If you just search this forum, you will find answers, but be careful.
Some of the posts are from when this forum was separate from 3.8mustang.com, which was sold to V6mustang.com.
I remember the below link, which was posted on 3.8mustang.com, before it was merged into this forum.
There are people with thousands of posts, like 20,000, that no longer own Ford products, yet continue in the off topic forum of this page.
I recognize the main players names from the inception of the New Edge Mustangs.
There was a moderator that used to set himself a quota of how many people he would suspend each day.
Off topic, great place to get E-raped.
They even made YouTube videos of his infraction personality and ban hammer.
Once in a while there was a semi sensible thread.
Everything you wanted to know about nitrous

    Interesting. Thanks for the info.
BTW. I never claimed to know anything about v6 stangs and nitrous. I do compete in EMC but dont consider myself a master . Just a competitor. We build purpose built engines for the competition following lots of rules like any racing sanctuary. It's all NA v8 stuff with different rules every year.
I figured you guys have done 100 times with your v6's that I'm trying to do for my wife with her stang.
Pete I'm new to this forum but not a newbie to forums at all. I took your google post as smart ass which is typical for forums. For that I apologize. This is the reason I stopped doing the public forums and stick with the private stuf . However, none of the professionals I know have messed with the v6 stuff. Only mod motor . So I had no choice.
Would like to hit reset and start over.

I edited my posts to exclude the snarky comments. I often post without asking myself if rude comments are necessary and then end up being the jerk because of it. Anyways, take it easy dude.

    Sometimes, we need "breaking in."

Some of that stuff was funny!
