    So with the 2015 mustang pretty much around the corner, I wanted to start a thread to talk about the rumors that pop up. I think Ford had already pretty much confirmed that the next generation mustang will now be considered a world car, selling it in Europe going forward to keep the mustang alive. Along with that, it seems that IRS will finally become available on the mustang, and a 4 banger is going back into the car. What else have you guys geared so far?

    Big rumors of a ecoboost 4 or 6 banger. With an IRS almost guaranteed.

    Well, all I've heard about is the 4 banger and IRS.. But you know what...
    I think that's the one I would want believe it or not. IF the 4 banger is worth working with.

    I think they might step up to three base platforms. I4, V6, and V8 models.

    An EcoBoost V6 option would be awesome. **** a V8 :cool:

    I have heard more rumors about keeping the V6 than switching back to an I4. I don't see a reason to go back to a 4 even with a turbo. Part of the muscle car appeal is a relatively bigger engine. Very happy that the IRS is at least on the menu.

    It's possible a 4cyl will be available only in Europe since their emissions are stricter then here in the US

    ive heard its supposed to be like a tribute to the old svo mustang with the turbo 4 banger.

    Would be cool to re-release the svo model.

    Guy from allfordmustangs claims to have had an opportunity to see the 2015 Mustang. Nothing has been officially confirmed if this guy is telling the truth or not. He seems to be a reputable member over there though;

    Similar to this;

    on a allfordmustang thread, there was a guy who got chosen to see a 2015 mustang in a survey test, and he said the 4 cyclinder ecoboost does 310 hp, and there is also going to be a ecoboost v6 and ecoboost v8 pushing over 500 hp.

    It actually looks pretty legit but I would prefer a steeper curve on the grill much like the 13 models.

    As cool of a story as that would be. I don't buy it for a second.

    with current motors, and technology, i would. And ford is already hinting a body change with the 2013 models, they are going to reform it more.

    Ford had an official press release a few months ago, and said they wanted to market mustangs to younger people since its average owner is like 50.

    I guess I should clarify. I think the engine numbers are totally believable. As is the fuel economy and possible engine choices. I just don't see Ford doing something this public for such a highly anticipated car.

    I have read about the rumors of a 4-banger Mustang with over 300 HP, I tend to not have a lot of faith in small motors with that much horsepower living a very long life. Ford will have to prove it can go a 100,000 miles with basic maintenance before I would consider one.

    Hows this for a rumor.....Ford announced today that the 2015 Mustang will follow the successful retro-design trend and base the new car on the Mustang II. The new/old Cobra should be stunning. LOL
