2016 V6 Manual Shifting/Mods

When racing in a v6 manual when is the proper time to shift? Can you redline like in a Honda Si?

I was wondering, I just hit 2k miles on my 2016 V6 mustang in manual and now I would like to have some fun with it. I installed an K&N air filter (not an intake) for better breathing and was wondering if you can redline these cars down a drag strip. Does anyone know the proper way to shift when racing? My gear ratio is at 3.31 if also matters. Any advice would be of great help.
Also, any bolt on mods to increase horsepower aside from the obvious CAI?

Wear a SNEL approved helmet, not just DOT.

You may want a short throw shifter. MGW offers an excellent option for the mt82.

How about as far as shifting goes? I'm shifting right before it reds at 7k. You think I can **** at 7 or 8k rpms without causing to much damage to the engine. I owned an Si back in the day and in those cars it was ok to redline.

I wouldn't push the rpm past that without reconciling the car to be very expendable. It would be better to shift to keep the rpm in the power band

Second step after a CAI is the exhaust. CAI improves the air input speed and exhaust improves the speed of the exhaust gases so as a result you will achieve better performance with these components installed.
Alternatively you can start with a tuner, as it also improves the ECU algorythm to give out better performance and adjust the peak points. This article will answer some of you r questions: Power, Sound, Looks | Can I Have It All With a Cat-Back Exhaust System?

You can shift at 7. The limiter won't let you go to 8. It really depends on where your power band is when you *should* shift. I'm not familiar with the newer mustang transmission and gear ratios.

Ut oh, there's that term "full synthetic". Saw a video sayin' that "full synthetic", is not. Its crude oil with additives. 100% synthetic oil is different, its all synthetic. Whatchew make of all this?
