Ok I have a wingless mustang and my middle brake light is taking a beating from the sun. I saw on some website (not sure if it was this one). That people were sanding em down and fixing em up to make em look pretty again instead of all scratched up. Can anyone show me what I was looking at? For the life of me I cant find it again, and its raining and im bored so I wanna do this.

I just sanded mine down and taped up where the light shows through and painted the rest black again, good as new

Is it the same procedure for the brake light as it is for the headlights?

I'm way too lazy to restore a piece of plastic. Anyone know where I can just buy a new one?

I have a black vynil decal over mine, $5 on ebay. Has mustang letters for the third brake light and covers up most of the light.

All you need is sandpaper. Start with 400, then 800, 1200 and finally I used 8000 for a mirror finish.

if its not real bad you can just get some clear coat and paint it with the clear and that worked PERFECTLY for me i also did the same thing on my headlights (the results that the clear coat will give you are a lil better than what tire shine will leave for you ... so use some tire shine on it and see if that takes away enough of the white for your tastes and just clean it off REALLY REALLY GOOD and use some clear on it and let it dry like i said b4 you can use it on your headlights too... ) did mine about 2 weeks ago and it has looked like brand ass new ever since ...
