Okay, I'm sold, I'm going to go with my 3.73. Only thing that sucks for me is that I have the road race .83 5th gear in my TKO so highway usage will suck till I get the T56

Everyone I have talked to so far has said that the 3.73s with the tko is like having 4.10s, idk how true that is though

I would suggest bumping up the rev limiter if you are only at 5800. I have my limiter set at 6400 for the sct, and with the launch control box from N2MB I can set a secondary rev limiter, that I have set at 6300. I prefer to hat the N2MB box as the initial rev limiter because it is spark cut instead of fuel cut that the OEM computer uses.

I plan on going 3.90 in the winter when I get my bonus from work. My gears are 2.95 / 1.98 / 1.34 / 1.00 / 0.59, so I have a super huge drop from 4th to 5th. Stock is 0.68 with the T5. With the 0.59 and the 3.90, I will be right around 2200-2300rpms in 5th at 70-75mph, and top of 4th at 6000rpms will be right at 115-117 mph, so I should be just shy of that at the end of the 1/4 hopefully now that I am running 14psi.

Also, there are couple of different T56 transmissions out there, so make sure you sit down with a calculator to figure out what you want.

    Cobra: 2.66 / 1.78 / 1.30 / 1.00 / 0.80 / 0.63

American Muscle has two different T56's
    2.66 1st gear: 2.66 / 1.78 / 1.30 / 1.00 / 0.80 / 0.63 (copy of cobra trans) http://www.americanmuscle.com/frrpp-tremec-t56-266gear.html
    2.97 1st gear: 2.97 / 2.10 / 1.46 / 1.00 / 0.74 / 0.50 (long range gearing) http://www.americanmuscle.com/frrpp-tremec-t56-295gear.html

Personally, I want a hybrid of those, I want to see if they can custom make a:
    2.66 / 1.78 / 1.30 / 1.00 / 0.74 / 0.50 that way you get a close ratio 1-4, but still have passing power in 5th and cruising gear in 6th even if you had a tall rear gear like a 3.90 or 4.10.

William, what cam and cylinder heads on the car? 5800rpm seems low for a built 4.3l.

Supersix stage 3 heads and cam is the 224/224. I'm going to try to take it to 6,300- 6,400 and see how it does

You can see what the engine likes if you datalog it. Engine load will show you a lot as far as where power drops off.

I just finished adjusting my tune and found out the limiter was set at 5,600 for some reason lol. So I changed it to 6,400 and added 1 degree of timing. I'm probably going to hook it back up to the dyno so I can keep a closer eye on everything, then I can datalog it at the track next time I go

How much timing in it now? Do you have the pro racer software or tweaking user adjustments on your handheld? If you ever need help looking over a log hit me up. I've been tuning my car with proracer for about 5 years now.

Not sure what the spark is at now, but the tuner gave me 2 tunes and set the programmer up so I can add up to 6 degrees. He uses Sct. I'll be switching over to a fast xfi soon though

The stock will go very far. I know you said something about traction issues but maybe there is a boost controller that will let you ramp boost in slower. I know a lot of guys doing stuff with co2 powered controllers.

Have you logged fpdc to verify this? One good thing about the returnless fuel system is when the pump is at 100% fpdc it opens the injectors up to keep the engine from going lean. You're gonna have to swap over to return fuel to run a fast anyways. I was told around 600hp you should swap to return fuel.

No I haven't logged that yet, next time I go to the track I'll see if my Sct programmer will let me log it
