Swapped my trans this weekend, went off the auto to manual swap thread. Thank you so much for the information. however i have some unresolved wrap up issues.
    First 2002 v6 mustang

    1. Speedometer reads double. Can't do over 60mph while guage is reading 120mph.

    2. Flashing overdrive light, Check engine light. all transmission codes

    3. PCM is still trying to shift the ghost automatic trans and revving the engine

    4. car starts without the clutch pushed in.

    5. took it to the ford dealership where i work. The ford technicians were unable to reflash the pcm to a manual PCM. due to the vin being an automatic. the fix they offered was either get a manual pcm or get a vin from a 2002 manual v6 so they can rewrite the vin to the pcm and reprogram the PATS to make everything work. however the issue will be unable to pass emissions for a mismatched vin on the pcm compared to the body.

the other fix they suggested was a programmable tuner that can modify the pcm. any suggestions that won't break the bank? This swap cost me $260 and 18 hours of my own time.

Try contacting Don at Lasota racing. Sounds like making some adjustments to the computer code should help. With my computer code, there are adjustments for the transmission type used.

Give Don a call, he's been very helpful with my projects.

A simple fix with a tune change. But for an how to, What year car and PCM? Was the original Factory transmission an automatic?
What year of manual transmission was installed?

Most likely you will first have to reflash the factory PCM to stock settings for the auto. Then, find a local tuner who will make the quick and simple changes (4 of them) then save the tune (reflash the PCM).

What city are you located in?

    Tune changes:
    1. In System Switches section; Scalars; Number of holes for Oss sensor, change the number 6 to 12.
    2. In the System Switches section; Scalars: Trans Auto Switch, change the number 1 to 0.
    3. In the System Switches section; Scalars: Trans Load Switch, change the number 6 to 0.
    4. In the System Switches section; Scalars: Trans Type, change the number 7 to 0.

Which harness did you use for the transmission?

What did you do with the prndl linkage that goes to the dash area? It's a small cable.

I left it loose in the center console the cable goes to the ignition switch and prevents the key from being removed when the vehicle isn't in park. I will remove it at a later date

Don't know of a programmer tool that will do that. Would call around first to find an SCT dealer/tuner in your area. Call them and ask how much to make those 4 changes to your stock tune and re-flash the PCM. You do not need a full tune and may find that they will do it for $50-75 cash.

Went back to the pick n pull to get the pcm. The donor car was a early 2001. Build date October 2000. Did the flywheel still have balance weights in late 2000? I bought the manual pcm from a later 2002 stang.
