Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone! PLEASE HELP!!! I have just ordered the Borla Atak catback exhaust for my '14 3.7 Mustang. Can anyone give me some insight on the sound & performance deference between a H-pipe & a X-pipe? I have narrowed it down to these two options.
#1) Borla long tube headers & shorty X-pipe
    Or
#2) Mac long tube headers & shorty H-pipe
I have heard the H-pipe gives a more retro sound & I am interested more in the hot rod sound than performance. The performance with come with the Procharger Super Charger. Saving up...

I prefer an h pipe's sound, the crossover adds a little more volume to the exhaust piping which I think is where the classic tone comes from, x pipe is pretty raw sounding, and with those cyclone v6s especially, it gets pretty abrasive under full throttle. I suggest high flow cats to filter out even more of the high frequency bad sounds.

I believe the h-pipe is going to help mimic the rumble bumble down low, the x-pipe tends to make very apparent raspy noises at higher rpm. "Screamer" comes to mind, it can be a very distinct sound.

I'm curious how the Borla kit will sound on your car. A friend of mine has gone through several cat back options. She settled on the Roush kit and it sounds very nice.

I am looking into Solo Performance muffler delete w/ J pipe, the H mid will sound the best for your Atak setup.

ATAK's are loud. They will be even louder with long tubes.

Procharged; BBK tuned length shorties; stock mid pipe; borla ATAK's

I have since changed out to Cervinis and could not be happier

Have not had it on the dyno. I have seen anywhere from 390-406 hp at the wheels with this kit
