    ^^why not??

I kinda like the idea. But rather than one big room it would be cool to have a direct convo with someone kinda like the FB talk thingy. Because I know that when talking via PM's it gets old having to go back and delete the old quoted posts.

Theres a facebook like chat module available for RQ4 but it costs $$$
I considered getting it last year as a gift for the site but i dont know how much it would be utilized.
Interested to see the interest,, if enough generated id consider bringing it up to the big boss.

As for generic web site chat, we did that a long time ago but it was primitive and noone used it, everyone did AIM chat.

I would only agree if it had moderation capability. It's much easier to manage a forum than it is a (presumably) fast moving chat. Logging would help but I don't think any of us really want to go through logs all the time and see who said or did what.

We have a 'shoutbox' on a local forum and it keeps the active members active but it also prevents anyone from posting because "hey I'll just tell everyone right now rather than making a post"

Then people get left out of conversations, the forum post activity drops like a rock...

    There's no benefit.

A group this size would be too hard to keep track of. There would be 9 different conversations in the chatbox at any given time.
