I'm really happy for him. I know Sochi didn't go how he wanted, so glad he owned that, used it as fuel.

Stoneman Douglass HS was built while I was in middle school in Coral Springs, FL. If I hadn’t moved back to Memphis, I would have attended Douglass which is just north of Coral Springs Middle School, where I went to MS.

Granted that was 25 years ago, still crazy to think this happened to a community I am (was) very familiar with and lived in from ages 6-14.

Nope. She's not a fan of vday anyways. Never celebrated so day after was just another normal day for us.

I do have to specify "no Valentine stuff or red roses" when I get something for anniversary.

Nice. I started dating a girl and I told her I'm not a fan of V day. The Tally museum (think more outdoors, animals, ropes course, etc) was doing a dinner and night time trail walk so we ended up doing that anyways lol.

I'd rather give little gifts and flowers randomly and not go to some crowded ass restaurant or something on v day

You're also more likely to get a lesser quality of meal on those days as the kitchen is overworked and "Valentine's Day/New Year's Eve/Mother's Day Specials" tend to be overpriced simply because they can be.

the regular tap house we go to had a valentine special that was a heart shaped pizza and two pints for $22. we go about every other sunday to get the same size pizza plus a 36oz tankard for me and two pints for the wife.......that costs $24. we're getting the same stuff plus my massive beer for the same price  we saw it on FB and were just like uhhhhhh. the pizza is smaller too b/c of heart shape.

eating at this place tonight to celebrate anniversary....

    Welcome

holly being the only food connoisseur here is prob the only one who might care

we normally eat at a diff steak joint, but this place is new since last year and takes reservation. the other place you gotta get to when they open or you're waiting an hour for a table. we never waited there, but it kinda stinks rushing out of the house to eat at 5. steak joint is good though and just a bit pricier by like 10 bucks per entree. everyone says this new butcher joint is really good, and with reservations we can take our time and get there about 7. prob just head that way and grab a drink or two beforehand. i think the menu changes every day on some things, but they always have a steak or two. wife can't eat seafood so that's prob what we both get.

You shouldn't even be allowed to order a steak well done.

There's a steakhouse here in Indy that won't cook a well done steak. Their menu literally says "Will not be responsible for well done meat."

Dang that place rocked. Menu changed slightly but I still got a steak. Wifey got lamb chops and was delicious too. Not too bad either price wise for what we drank......$145 tab and tipped $55. We had ten drinks total so good deal.

Starting next weekend, we can now buy alcohol on Sunday in Indiana. Only from 12pm-8pm which is dumb considering it's 7am-3am every other day of the week.

So you couldn't previously buy alcohol on Sunday?

We have a dumb law where retail businesses cannot open until noon on Sunday.
