Honestly, Walmart probably had an idea something like this was going to happen.

At the end of the day this is great competition and we the consumer are who is winning right now.

I'm sure they assumed amazon would make some sort of move but no way they knew the magnitude of it. 14.7 billion is outrageous

Had a great weekend in STL with the family. Went up Friday afternoon to stay at a drury. pretty much only place we stay anymore. got there about an hour before they put out the buffet and served drinks. So just chilled for that, swam afterwards and chilled some more. We were in a nice area of STL so went to the science center for a bit, and caught an imax film there. uber'd up to the zoo and hung out there until it was about time to get back to the hotel for food/drinks. swam again after, and then was donezo.

The STL zoo is freakin badass. If you google "best free attractions" or something like that, it's always rated way up there. Actually number 1 when I just did it. They have beer too + uber rocks.

got back into this last night. had to order a different pump and a few other things....then got busy with other crap. started germination last night when we got home, and ordered some grow lights this morning. pretty sure i was over thinking it all, and its just going to be a learning process. decided to just jump right in and figure it out as i go. hopefully figure out what im doing by the time winter rolls around so i can maintain some plants during the cold.

    Fidget Spinners Are Over

The country has apparently reached peak spinners. I can't believe people are actually writing articles on this subject.

Good. I finally convinced my daughter they're trash and she's against them now.

Silly bands were also incredibly dumb and I definitely made fun of them. Yo yos, on the other hand, at least teach practice, hand-eye coordination, and can be a mastered skill.

Never heard of silly bands. Had to Google it. I thought you were referring to slap bracelets at first.

    there ya go. another example.

yeah but there wasn't some massive outcry across the nation about how dumb they were

i have old kids so i've seen every stupid toy there is. probably said "no you can't have that" 100 times more than anyone else here. if someone is going to get all fired up over a spinner, they're a little late to the party. they should have lost their mind first time they saw the impulse counter at toys r us

Part of it is also how much it was crammed down our throats. You pretty much can't go to any news website, YouTube channel, or social media site and not see stuff about fidget spinners all over the place. That really hasn't happened on the same level/massive exposure with any other stupid fad toy.

i didn't really see any of that stuff. youtube is probably the site where i did see the most, but it was just video game content creators making meme vids.

i ordered the ones for my boy on april 14th so before the big freakout. looks like i was into spinners before they were cool :taylor: i can't remember where i first saw them at, but i do remember thinking "thats kinda cool". plus they were 2 bucks each so whatever.

Was supposed to work the David Blaine show tonight, but it was inexplicably postponed. Maybe he shot himself again.

Edit: Turns out it was canceled for bereavement.
