My brother is getting an 07 V6 soon, and is going to want to put dual exhaust on it. I was going to wait until he joined he to post and ask but I figured I'd get a jump on it.

A local friend of ours has a yellow 06 with a Y-pipe kit that splits into dual flowmasters. Needless to say, it sounds like a Civic. No joke.

I've heard soundclips of Magnaflows that I found when I searched through here and didn't care for the sound either.

So anyone with an '05+ with duals, PLEASE post sound clips, opinions, and details on your setups please. It would be greatly appreciated.

We just ordered the car today! I made a teaser thread in the body kits section. :)

From what I've heard I would go with Mac or Flowmaster.

Unless he's getting a mid-pipe it will sound ricey with almost any muffler if it's just an axle back.

Heres a small vid of my car with the windows up and a Ford Racing axle back muffler, made by Borla.

I had a single MAC, went to dual magnaflows. The magnaflows sounded like crap until I got the car dyno tuned with an intake and pulley, now they sounds great. I also have baffled tips which I dont like too much. The MAC sounded ok at lower RPMs, but got ricey in the upper RPMs. I will see if I can find the video I made when I had my MAC on, its on streetfire.

    Mine doesn't. :)

And Flyboy, that MAC setup you posted sounds sick!! Is that a "true" dual setup, or does it still use the y-pipe?

Not all of them do. I don't like the sound of 4.0's though, they sound too tinny/hollow. It's probaly the OHC's.

    Hmm... new option.

We found a site that sells a NEW painted OEM GT rear bumper, GT take-off mufflers, and the stock tips that come on GTs... for get this, $200!!

Anyone that has sound clips of this setup, please post them!

If he could buy this setup for $250ish once you count shipping, we'd install the bumper ourselves, and have a shop weld up the extra pipe and the mufflers.

That's if it sounds okay lol.

Who cares what it sounds like? Just the painted bumper is worth 200 bucks. lol

Besides you can always weld in any mufflers of your choice. Thats where 90% of your sound is from anyway.

Well from the past year and a half I can tell you that magna flow don't really justify the 4.0L, duals or not. I think they sound like rice in my opinion on the 4.0's. I would go with the Flowmaster American Thunders. 40 series I believe, not sure thought. I do know the mufflers are black. Or JBA, thats what I have on my car and they are not to loud and are very presentable. Also no exhaust drone eather  Those are the only ones I think are decent. MRT mufflers sound ok too, little to raspy for me though. Check out some sound clips on other forums.

Bumping a really old thread here. Forgot about it, and my brother asked me the other day if anyone else had replied.

Thanks for the info! We're seriously leaning towards the 40 series as that's what I have on my car and we love them. I'm just hoping we can get the exhaust shop to cut out a mini hole for the drivers side exhaust tip, as my parents dont want to start changing bumpers on a brand new car with 40 miles on the clock.

I have it in my favorites at home.. I'll post the link when I get it. :)
