gas guage is stuck on e

    i know it could be the float but what else could it be or is there a way to check the gas manually?

    a short in wire, faulty gauge, could be alot really.

    Moving to Maintenance/Repair.

    While I'm here though... are you throwing a check engine light?

    Here's a stupid little thing you could do, just to eliminate a low-possibility cause... power cycle the EEC.
    1. disconnect the negative battery terminal
    2. Pump the brakes (just discharges and residual charge)
    3. Reconnect the battery.

    When you put in the key and turn it to "on", all of your guages should peg. Watch the fuel gauge to see if it moves. (Eliminates a stuck gauge or bad connection to the gauge itself)

    mine just did this last month, thought it was the flout, but after letting it sit for a few hours, it came back to normal.
