Help with exhaust please

Hello I have a 99 3.8 with H pipe and duel Ford performance exhaust. I have to be smog legal since I live in CA. The system is old, it was on the Mustang when I purchased it 3 years ago. Its time for a new duel exhaust system. Since I have the H pipe already on, I'm looking for a nice GT set up. I'm worried it wont sound right sine my cars a 3.8. Can anyone recommend a nice set up that sounds good. My budget is about $700.00 I'm also trying to avoid the dreaded drone noise if possible. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've been looking at the Borla S-Type Cat-Back Exhaust on American Muscle.

Why not just weld in some magnaflow mufflers and save a ton of cash. If you already have a dual system and want different sound thats the way I would go.

Thank you for the replay. Its not that I want a new sound, I need a new system. I don't know how a system intended for a v8 will sound on a v6. The one that's on it sounds really good but its getting old. But i have been reading a Magnaflow would be a good choice. My wife would like me to save some cash but its way to late for that. I have never had a Mustang or a car before always lifted 4x4 trucks. now im addicted. I have spent prob $10,000 at LMR JC pony parts and American muscle.

Leave the h pipe on it and put flow master 40s on it. 40s have been a popular set up on the 6s for decades.

Thank you for replaying. I was looking at the Flowmaster American Thunder cat back stainless. This is what I'm looking for, a true dual that sounds good on the 3.8. That people have heard and liked the sound.
