My desktop is mostly for internet/downloading.
It has an AMD 64 3400
    1 gig of ram
750 gigs of hard drive space.

My laptop is used for school work listening to music

    Quick specs
1.6 ghz Intel core 2 duo
    2 gigs of ram
220 gigs of hard drive space.

For some reason, I think hard drive space is the most important feature of a computer.

I'd be curious to hear how you're getting 220GB into a laptop.

You are right about that. I am lucky to get 3 hours out of the battery. All of the study/break rooms at my school have desks with a/c outlets, so I don't mind.

    Right now just one.

    intel [email protected] ghz cpu
    asus p4p800 se mobo
    2 liteon drives (dvdrw's)
    6600 gt
    1 gig o' ram
    old soundblaster card
240 gig hard drive space(2 old drives)
    antec 480wt neo psu
    cheap no name 5.1 speakers
all wrapped up in a thermaltake soprano case.

It's basically my AIO machine, email/internet/games/burning cd's & dvds are all on this machine. I don't need much else but it's getting a little outdated.

I'm waiting to see how the whole amd/intel thing turns out before I build a box, but honestly I'm getting tired of waiting. If I don't see some concrete specs on barcelona soon I'm just gonna get a c2d after the next price cut. At that time this box will be converted into a media center/file server or whatever.

Laptop Dell Inspiron 1150 15" screen, 80 GB HD, 1G memory, DVD+/-RW, shitty video card.....

currently the laptop is using a 27" LCD tv as a monitor because mine is out. That is not as cool as it sounds after all.
