Is there a way to disable the DRL on 2012 convertible my self or do I have to go to dealer?

    They won't disable it either.

Also, if it's for parking, pull the ER brake handle up before starting
the car, the DRLs will be off. This feature is for Drive-Inn theater mode,
    heh heh...

Buy an ELM327 adapter, and get ForScan, you can disable it yourself.

So if I get the ELM327 adapter and ForScan, then what? Does it show the specifics I need to disable the DRL?
    Thanks

You can program the modules. You can get a 2-month license free for
the advanced stuff, which you will need for module programming.

There will be an option to Enable/Disable daytime running lamps, in the BCM
    module.

You cannot use the cheap China ELM327 adapters, they do not work. You should
get the one that will have the switch for MS & HS CAN, which you will need.
This is the one I got:
ELM327 USB OBD2 Modified For Ford MS-CAN HS-CAN Mazda Diagnostic Forscan Scanne 758471658984 | eBay
I also have one without the switch that worked with ForScan.

I have a 10" Windows Tablet for all my diagnostic software.

So I received the USB Modified OBD2 ELM327 For Ford MS-CAN HS-CAN Mazda Forscan Diagnostic Scanner on Friday and have the Forscan app. I've tried to find the module for the DRL (daytime running lights), which should be BCM, but there is nothing coming up. I've searched the internet and Forscan for solutions, but nothing. The ELM connects fine and reads the information for my specific car but not showing a module that would have the DRL to disable. Is it somewhere else? I'm at a loss!

You need the 2-month free license. FORScan forum - User Control Panel - Register

    Go to:
    https://www.motorcraftservice.com/asbuilt

Type your VIN to get your as-built data. You will have to click it again after you pick
country and language. You need that in case you mess up, or get new modules,
or like a gauge cluster. I got mine, and it's not a lot, at all, for a 2008...

DRL on/off option in the IPC

Make sure you're not in DEMO mode.

    You should have:
    DRL
    Passive Arming of the alarm
    Auto-lock feature
    Power door trim inhibit
    Perimeter lighting (headlight supervision)
    Dome light timer

I've read, people having this done at their local Ford dealers for around $100.
