Stock LS1 valvesprings are good up to .500 lift if I remember correctly.

Stock LS6 valvespring are good anywhere from .525-.550 depending on color.

I'd just get a set of comp 918s and call it a day.

    Better than LS6 valvesprings.

I was told they were to much spring for the stock 7mm valve.

I went with the yellow ls6 from the 02+ vette. They support up to a .580 lift acording to lengenfelter.com. Thats who I bought mine from.

The yellow is the best one. It's from the 405hp LS6 vette. The blue I believe are from the 385hp LS6 vette.

Either way you can't really go wrong. As long as they aren't 100k milers.

yellow ls6 valve springs will work fine for that cam, gt retainers will work as well, and reuse the 3.8 locks(id buy new ones).

Stock ls1 springs wont support that lift. You need to go with the yellow ls6 springs. The stock ls1 springs arent much better than stock v6 mustang.

sorry to revive an old thread, but I found it while using the search before I asked a question already handled. However, there is a small piece of information here that is not specified. With the LS valve springs, this thread says to use Mustang GT retainers. which ones? The 5.0 GT retainers or the 4.6GT retainers? I'm looking to do this setup.

I am pretty sure they are referring to modular engine valve spring retainers. When you select a valve spring mark down its specs and required retainer dimensions. Then find a retainer that matches those requirements and fits your valve stem.
