3.8 Turbo Build Under Way
I would contact the company directly and get a brand new set directly. There is no way you should even have to consider running those

That's who told me there was nothing wrong with them. Their tech department told me that's normal in the manufacturing process. I'm going to send this set back to the outlet I got them from. I'll find a place where I can go look at them first.

This is a lot better setup. The bench grinder turns at 3,600 RPM the handheld I've had in my box for about 25 years I never used it till today. It takes the material off at a nice pace very easy to control. When I stuck that other end grinder in that first hole and it spit it back out at me, 20190617_094933.jpg
I was sure glad I left the heads to the professional.

Okay I don't have a before picture but it kind of looks like the one in the photo when I started I'll finish the rest of it up with a little sandpaper tool and leave the Sandpaper marks. On a side note it will completely destroyed a cup of coffee.

Anyone know if the Windstar grommet is supposed to be flush or stick past like in the photo? I got all the porting done and like anything else by the time I got to the last few I had it down pretty good.20190619_175339.jpg

After having no luck with the tech. department at clevite from two different places I went back to rockauto and ordered sealed power cam bearings. They look perfect no buffing or scratches. Go figure

Thanks it's hard to say how much it cost for the turbo kit. I built my own headers intake piping if I had to guess about $2,500 in parts. 750.00 for two Garrett turbos. Treadstone twin intercooler was about 350.00 and about 1000.00 in piping supporting parts blow off wastegates. SCT Cal 4 and MAF etc. It gets expensive there's no real way of telling how much I got in it. I'm still waiting on the machine shop to finish my stroker motor. I'm probably going to have close to 5000.00 in it alone.

I'm still here just been busy doing other things. Still waiting on machine shop for the motor. Going to be pulling the motor out of the blue car and put its K frame in the gray car soon.

Well where to begin. After 2 years of my block sitting at the Machine Shop. More excuses than I can count. About a Year's worth of covid excuse. And so on I finally said I'm coming to get my parts. They were supposed to balance everything but I think all they really did was ruin my connecting rods. All the rods do weigh the same but, the problem is he just took it all off the big end. Now there's a difference between the big end and a small end from each rod. I guess that's how they consider balancing. They also had my crankshaft I gave it to them in the box it shipped in but I guess after two years the journals have a light rust. A different guy was responsible for machine work on the block I have to say it appears excellent to me. I checked it with micrometers and a bore Gage and appears to be exactly .004 thousands exactly where the custom Pistons say to measure at. It's also been decked and cleaned. I found another guy who builds race engines he's going to take a look at what I got. I haven't gave up!!

Crankshaft they seem to be about .002
The specks for stock are .001 to .0015 for race engines it's better to be big up to .003 think I'm in good shape. USA race engines are going to balance the crankshaft and look at the rods to see if I need new ones. I checked the rods on a scale he ground down just the big end to get them the same weight. So don't know what to think about that.

Dropped off the crank rods and pistons at USA racing in Pasadena Texas. Prices is determined by how much weight he has to add or subtract from the crank. But he seems confident that he can balance what I got. Rod bearings that came with the crankshaft the dimples that locate where they're at on the connecting rod seems to be mismatch from one side to the other on the scat connecting rod. Don't know what that's about. The brand "enginetech" or something.

I have not heard back from the machine shop yet. I'm thinking your right the ones that came with the rebuilt crank are for the stock rods. I'm using Scat rods.

Well just got a call from the machine shop. balanceing is done. The grinding on the connecting rod is not ideal but will work. Repolished the crank balance everything.295.00 not bad now just have to get bearings.
