The kind of desired performance you're describing is the domain of manual gear boxes, and DSG/SMG/PDK transmissions. To the best of my knowledge not one American car manufacturer offers a truly racing oriented automated/automatic transmission. So yes, a tune could improve the rate at which things happen when you command a shift, but it will never approach the DSG/SMG/PDK transmission.

every car I've ever drivin in that is an aautomatic and has the autostick thing does this, my mother has a Pontiac g6 gtp auto with the little plus and minus so driving it one day I decided to try it, very dissapointed in how long shifting actually took, they're not quick and crisp like in a 5sp with a clutch, the only advice I can give you is tune tune tune and hope for the best, you should DEF notice a difference atleast, though I wouldnt expect manual speed shifting

I am ordering the Bama tuner today. I understand I will never get the hard firm shifts the a standard transmission however I also know that I can drive my fiances 2011 Impala 3.5 and can wind it oht and get it to chirp going into 2nd.... so I am having a hard time thinking that my mustang cant do this.

My auto was the same way. I got a tune and with a couple of tweaks it shifted great.

Just found out this morning that if you drop it into "S" sport shift mode you dont. HAVE to use the + and - to shift..... world of difference still room for improvment but shift are like night and day instead of useing that stupid little thumb switch..... why the hell any xar company would put that in a car is beyond me!!! Happy Happy!

You don't want to power brake it anyway. My recommendation to anyone would be to put a procharger on it. Adds so much power and better mpg's. For the power brake thing was traction control on? My only thought would be that.

This is why I'm not enthusiastic for drive by wire systems with software that interrupts driver inputs
