Thanks! image.jpg it's been a while since an update. I've been working on assembling the ms3 for the past day and a half. I've got it to the point where my pc communicates with the ms3. Also, after talking with Ron I've decided to get an x card and map daddy map sensor. Now ill never have to worry about maxing out the map sensor or running out of input/output controls

That's actually a relatively "old" picture since I have the board almost complete, just a couple more capacitors And transistors to install. The transistors are a pain to install without bridging the circuit with solder since the pins are so close together.

That's crazy! No way I could solder a board like that.

Very nice. I finally got my MS board fixed after a transistor burned out on me. Looking forward to see how you configure yours.

You probably burned out the q20 or q4 transistor. The transistors that come with the kit cannot hold the current needed for a PWM iac.

I don't know which one it was because the guy that built it for me was the one to troubleshoot it and fix it for me. Basically I wasn't getting any signal from the VR sensor. He replaced it with an upgraded transistor that should be able to handle a lot more RPM without breaking up. He was also nice enough to make it a socket so if I have to replace it in the future I don't have to solder it. I can't solder if my life depended on it so I am happy with that.

Oooooh I know exactly what you're talking about. Ron told me about U7 which is a chip for the VR circuit that comes in the regular kit but its "junk" in his words. You have to solder in a socket on u7 and insert a different chip. I could be wrong though. The two things he warned me not to install were the transistor in the kit and the u7 chip in the kit. He was out of the new u7 chips so he has a few on order and ill snag one from him this week.

I finished the board tonight aside from the u7 chip and the pwm iac transistor. Waiting on those for ron

Lookin good bud. Let me know if you need any help with the harness. There are some really cool tricks to getting everything as simple as possible.

I am interested to see how well your crank sensor works with the MS. Mine is getting some noise ant I have to dial in the pots a little more to get a good crank and RPM signal.

So any update with the MS. I am having a bitch of a time getting a solid crank signal. I'd like to know how it is working out for you.

Absolutely zero progress or updates. I have been feeling more like my car has been an annoyance than a fun project so I am taking a break from it, ive temporarily lost interest in it. Plus being broke doesn't help. I decided to put my spare play money into making double payments to snap on and matco. I have 1600 left to pay off and I wont have any tool bill debt.

About the crank signal. My ms3 is processing the crank signal just fine. Make sure you have your hardware correctly installed with the correct components. I had ron 8byah6 test my ms3 with his stimulator and he set the pots and says all is good to go.
