Oil fill level

Hi everyone,

Noticed on the car that the dipstick oil level is slightly above the max fill line. Maybe 1/4 inch so suspect maybe 500ml or so too much oil. Book states over fill can damage the engine. Wonder if this much extra will cause damage and if i should get the overfill removed asap?

Did you change the oil yourself? If you did and put the right amount in then your dipstick could be wrong.

no worries the dipstick was correct just overfill but now removed the excess at a local garage.
Better safe than sorry.
