I am wondering how you take the parking brake handle off so I can reset the coil spring as mine is to tight and is causing issues. I have removed the centre consol so I can get it out. When I replaced the brake cables I struggled to get them back on to the calipers as there wasn't any slack. I am in uk so can't take it to my local ford dealer as they don't touch 1999 mustangs.

    Thanks for the help

There are two studs with nuts on them holding down the parking brake mounting pad. Remove the nuts and lift up the handle though it will still be attached to the brake cables.
