So I'm having my windows redone and I'm trying to decide what percents to go with. I had 20% all around but our laws have changed from 0 tolerance to a few stipulations.

So I was thinking 5% in rear, 5% quarters, and either 35% or 20% sides.

Our laws have changed to 35% all around or no limit on rear and 50% sides. However going from 0 tolerance to window tint allowed the police really have stopped pulling vehicles over for tint. It seems since the laws caused police to only ticket tint as a secondary offense (meaning you were pulled over for speeding, etc, and then get a tint ticket if its not within the laws).

I figure I could probably go a little darker without drawing attention to myself now, and since I hardly ever get pulled over I doubt I'd get a ticket. I also spend 9 months of the year out of state since I intern and attend college away.

Let me see some pics

I have 15% all the way around. It is supposed to be at least 35% on the sides. I have been pulled over many times and they never said anything about it.

our law states that no tint at all is allowed in the front windows beside the driver but i have 20% all around and have not been hassled at all for it, and i do get pulled over plenty for other equipment violations... personally i think anything less than 20% is a waste of time and i think next time around on the GT i will get 10%

Hmm, okay. Im just afraid my 20% sides will appear darker with the 5% rear and quarters. Maybe I'll have the quarters done in 20% as well?

The darker the rear the lighter the front looks

Texas law allows 35%, Arkanas doesn't have much, if any, rules on tint so I got 20% on the back and sides. Probably not a good picture to see the tint due to noise from being dark. It's a car similar to yours so it might help a bit.

I have 2.5% on the 2 front windows, quarters, rear window and tint strip. My windshield is tinted 35%.

Tint is a lot more noticable in the day and on lighter cars.

I have 35% on the front windows, and 20% on all other windows (including quarter panels). Although I had to get the fronts redone, and I think the guy used 20%, lol. I have no clue what tint the sunroof is, although it seems to be less than 20% but way more than 5%. Possibly just another colour of 20%.

Sorry, all I have as of yet is crappy cellphone pictures:

I've had 5% on the rear for a while now actually. I had that redone last summer. The sides and quarters are actually whats getting done next. I've never had a problem seeing out of 5%.

    Seriously? Newb.

Tint isn't that expensive. After its all said and done all windows are going to cost me about $240 and thats including the old tint removal fees.

That much? I only paid $150 CAD for mine... The only thing they didn't do was the windshield.

Yeah, it kinda varies. There's a place in town that'll do your whole car for 100 but their quality sucks. This 240 is from one of the best guys in town. He installs vinyl over the dot matrix, tint strip on the windsheild, and does perfect work on the side windows and garuntees his work. 240 is a great price IMO.

I have 15% all around and would probably go darker next time

5% all around would be my optimal choice :D

I would, but my buddy has 5% all around on his IS-F and he gets so many tickets. I don't wanna attract the fuzz.
