the **** you talking about? Medicare For All is a single payer system. Really cringy reading your political takes this cycle. pro tip - yang and mayor pete aren't for single payer systems but they constantly misrepresent their position by stealing the medicare for all catch phrase for their multi payer systems. ****ing dolt

I'll add a few things. This study is interesting, because it seems to substantiate a lot of the issues with how to pay for it. I think there need to be additional studies to confirm this before it's just accepted, but if it's true it's hard to argue against.

Something else, I watch John Oliver's special on this and something he brought up that I haven't heard anyone talk about (maybe they have) was the massive amounts of jobs that will be lost from essentially eliminating the private medical insurance agency. I want to say he said it would be somewhere in the ballpark of 1.9 million jobs lost, and that part of the paying for everyone's healthcare in the "medicare-for-all" theory is paying for all these people to be retrained and get them into a new job.

I'm not sure how all that plays in, but seems to me that could be another large budget that's maybe not being included into the cost of doing business, which in this situation would be moving to single payer.

I watched that segment and actually cringed at the jobs part. The jobs in insurance industry will be lost sure but they will be transitioned into jobs in the new medicare for all system which is going to require an absolute **** ton of employees all over the country. The main losers, job wise, in a single payer system will be the higher level executives not necessarily the mid to lower level employees. Personally it's hard for me to give a **** if high level executives from the health insurance industry are out of jobs, they are sociopaths that made profit for decades off the misery of people. Wouldn't mind seeing some of the ones that made hundreds of millions be publicly hanged, drawn and quartered

It's all part of his plan. They'll just go dig ditches for 15/hr under the federal jobs guarantee. Problem solved
