I have a 2005 v6 stang and was wondering if I should go with CAI and tuner or a true dual exhaust and a new bumper?

I don't want to cut the original bumper on my v6 so I'll pay 200 dollars plus have professionals paint it for me

Exhaust and bumper cost 200 dollars more plus professional help

I'd recommend CAI and tuner. Should you do any heavier mods in the future a tuner will be needed.

I noticed an immediate difference in a "get up and go" feel with a race tune from stock and was very happy.

Dual exhaust has a nice sound. If you go that route YouTube the different kinds to get the one you like the most (sound wise).

FYI I got ford racing dual exhaust and later found out if I ever want long tubes I'd have to buy a mid pipe and the lt's so if you want lt's in the future just something to think about.

Get the intake and tuner first. You'll need the tuner for just about every mod after that.

IMHO much more performance can be gained by selecting parts more judiciously. I personally would not spend so much coin on shiny, heavy stuff.

A couple things you could look at are lightweight wheels, such as the Enkei RPF1, <200 treadwear tires, squared stance, and a spring/damper kit from Maximum Motorsports.

Note that staggered wheels, where your rear rubber is wider than the front tends to cause or exacerbate understeer. This makes it difficult to get the car to rotate into a turn.

3.73 gears made a huge difference for me. Autos usually have 4.10s but I supercharged and didn't want 4.10s cause of that.

Don't have a tlok an haven't invested in upgrading the rear end.

I wanted the raxiom lights but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I got an eibach pro damper kit with the steeda sport lowering springs. Made a huge difference in feel for me. And tires. Nice car btw.

Agree. Start with the cia and tuner. Id reccomend sct. I have a diablosport but sct has better feedback. After that gears, exhaust, etc will make more sense getting afterwards since youd be tuning accordingly. If you do ever get 410s make sure to go with some good tires. I have 410s installed and already balding mine out

I assure you the Lambo doors are not worth the expense and follow on problems.

What do you want from your car? Comfort? Or an excellent driving experience?

Yea I'm dropping tons of money on my v6. When I bought it I didn't have enough for a v8 and didn't realize until after the fact that the v6 of our years had considerably lower hp/torque numbers than other cars, etc.

Since I did so many mods I don't think it's even smart for me to try and sell the 6 and get an 8. Maybe after doing cams with the s/c ill finally have some respectable numbers.

Get the cold air intake/tuner, then get a set of 3.73 or 4.10 gears.

Was looking at the 4.10's but don't want to totally top out on the highway so I might get the 3.73's but I know I want a new ratio

You're not going to top out on the highway unless you plan on driving 140 mph on the highway. Cruising at 70mph my rpms are at 2600. I still get 25 mpg highway. And I have a ton of fun taking off from a stop.
