while i was coming home from school today, gear didn't shift.-->RPM went really high
    (i have auto)

i think it stayed on first gear (so i shift down from D to 2 to come home)

the thing is odometer didn't even move either

    what's wrong with my car???

    is my car dying??

after about 5 minutes it came back to normal, though
but i am afraid that my car's gonna stop all of sudden

check the tranny fluid to see if you need to add some.

How many miles on the tranny?

sounds like the Vehicle speed sensor is bad.

if that's the case, you should see a flashing light somewhere on the dash. well, change it. it is not that expensive.

I had a similar problem going from 2bd to 3rd, took it to the tranny shop and they said that 3rd gear was fuked. Endud up having to spring for a new tranny.

this is one of the many reasons why i wont touch an auto.

the things are fragile as hell. that wasnt a fact but its how i feel, and my oppinion. i swear you can mess up stuff if you just floor it on a regular basis...

    it has about 75000 miles

i think there's something wrong with speedometer for sure.

it works, but sometime, it stays at 0 (zero) while i am driving.

    today....i think gear was ok..

should i just wait and see ? or
    take it to dealer???
