ProM MAF question

i'm getting ready to ProCharge my car and i had a question about my mass air flow sensor. i bought a used kit a little while back with a Pro M 75mm blow through (links to pictures below). maybe this is just my ignorance but it being a sensor, shouldn't the actual sensor be going into the piping like an oxygen sensor would? this just looks like there is something welded to the outside of the pipe but nothing is coming through.

yeah definitely nothing inside the pipe. it looks like that section of the pipe has holes going all around it, that don't come through to the outside. but there is nothing coming through inside the pipe.

That is a old Pro-M Univer MAF (I think I spelled that right). I had one at one time it worked half a**. thats probable why the person sold the kit, the car ran like crap with that MAF and he couldn't figure out what the problem was.

just chuck it in the trash and buy a SCT MAF.

Aren't there 80mm lightning MAFs too? I just thought it would bed better to keep it closer to 75 or 80 so its close to the same size as3" piping or whatever size you're using if you're going blow through.

ahhh. well i'm having Justin remotely tune it and he recommends one of his 75mm blow through housings with a PMAS HPX sensor (~$300). he also says how anything bigger than 3" tubing is pretty much a waste and can cause issues with the sensor. 3" is perfect, which his are. the housing i have is 3.5". i dunno, i guess i just answered my own question huh. just sucks, another $300 ha.
