I have not had any other mustang's before but I love the 4.0L. The stock automatic trannys shift a little wimpy off the lot but thats nothing that cant be cleared up with a xcal2 SCT. Can adjust throttle response and shift pressure. The 5 speeds are pretty fun too :)

I heard that the new autos ford is using in the new mustangs is really good and comparable to GM's autos.

I remember the auto in my 00 v6 was crappy as hell. Sometimes it would drop a gear and other times it just wouldn't go.

eh i imagine most shifters would feel good in the 05+ since it's not a mainstream tranny and probably doesn't have the same R&D behind it.

all i say is i love my car the auto is great has great reaction, the only thing i dont like is the 2-3 short shifts, but it might be due to the fact that i havent had the WOT shifts tuned to my peak at gears 2-3, other than that its a big step up from my 94 v6 and 01 v6

While I dont think the 05 GT's are slow, (at least way faster than my 02 3.8.) Theres a bunch of special editions coming out soon, shelby GT, bullit and the rumored boss 302 I think this models will finally shut up the LS1 guys.

Im still hoping they do bring the boss back if not then Im afraid I might actually betray ford and go for a camaro in 08.

Hey I think the same v6 thats in the 2005+ v6 mustang is in the FPV vehicles in Aus. Maybe you can get parts from them.

Then you'd have a beast! Those have like 300+hp :)

    Fixed

I drive the new mustangs a lot, 4.0s and 4.6s at my work but never really getting to drive them good as there are cameras in the parking lot, i noticed the clutch feels nice and its easy to drive, the handling is good at about 20 mph in a parking lot... i really like the guages on the new mustangs a lot but other than that i dont really like the new interior too much.

Also i am not sure if there is any difference in the 40th ann. models but i drove an 04 gt and it felt faster than a brand new one, but also it was broken in already with about 25k miles compared to like 3k. The new exterior looks cool but i just dont like it as much as the 99-04s something about them just excites me...
