I've got an opportunity to get this tuner (married) for 175. The first question is, is it worth it?

Next: Bama would have to unlock it for 150 correct?

Does the unlock include tunes for life?

Last one: is it compatible with the V6 99-04 cars?

I emailed Bama, I'll let you all know what they say.

Don't buy a married tuner used, you can get one used for $150-$177 unmarried.
I found one locally for $177, but I had to pass when an expenditure came up.

Thanks man, I got a response from Bama. That advised against it as well. I'm a newbie at when it comes to anything that really isn't bolt on. I've rebuilt a couple engines but it was just a straight up rebuild nothing fancy.

Here is the response I got from Bama.

    Thank you for contacting us.
I typically recommend against purchasing a married tuner, as it is a hassle and a lot of money, but it can be done.
First, you would need to unlock it. For this, you would need to go through SCT, the manufacturer. They charge $150 to do this.
After the device is unlocked, you can then get tunes. You can go anywhere that sells SCT tunes, but should you choose BAMA, we offer our tuning membership (which is good for as long as you own the vehicle, or before you do anything too crazy to the car) for $149.99.
Typically, this puts you above the $399 mark of a new device that comes with the tunes.

If the device is a good enough price (under $100), you can save some money, but keep in mind the process you will undergo.

If I have answered all of your questions, there is no need to reply.
