S550 3.7L oil change

So maybe I am approaching this from an old "Hot Rodders" view point, but 10000 miles until the first oil change seems like a lot of miles on a brand new engine. I have 3800+ miles on it now and feel like I should get the oil changed. The oil still appears darn clean, but that doesn't mean there aren't small metal particles circulating from break in, unless that is no longer the case with new engines?

I believe break-in is still applicable to new engines. I know it's true for crate motors. I'd allow the possibility ford does dyno testing, but probably not every engine.

An oil change may be due. If you've not already done it, seat the rings.

Yeah, an oil change is due for the first one. Get one done like yesterday!

Kinda lookin' at Royal Purple motor oil for Ruby. She doesnt get driven much. She's approaching her first thousand miles. Gonna change it and see what, if any, metal is floating around.

I change the oil at 1,000 miles on every new car I've every bought, for the 1st oil change. Over kill, but it makes me happy. I noticed as I poured the old oil into my 5 gallon recycling container, a 'gold' color on the surface of the oil. Probably gasket sealers, anti rust oil sprayed on the newly assembled engine parts. I'm not sure what it is but I was happy to have gotten all that crap out of my motors. I've used Royal Purple in my car several years ago. It's good oil but it was too pricey for me so I changed to a cheaper oil. :)

Also, been watching YouTube videos about adding rare earth magnets to the outside of the oil filter cannister.

Been thinkin' twice about usin' Royal Purple. They say its dark goin' in, and dark coming out. At least with Mobile 1, I can see how clean the oil is.

Been watching videos on Filtermags. Pricey, but, that kinda goes for everything and anything I order for my Pony.
So, ordered thru Amazon.
Size: MC-300 medium for 3in K&N cannister for my 2017 V6.
