SAW....the video game?

Success.
'Saw' franchise to be released as video game
If you just can't get enough of people being ruthlessly tortured, fear not! You'll be able to do it yourself. The SAW franchise is set to be made into a video game using the various plotlines of the current 4 films. Really, this is totally necessary. Totally.

There's really not much else to this story, except for my biting sarcasm. Bloody Disgusting reports:

* At Brash Entertainment's recent press event, IGN UK received word that a game based on the Saw movie franchise is still in development. This information was delivered to them through a teaser trailer that featured the Jigsaw puppet explaining that we as game journalists were wasting our lives in the industry -- so we'll take his word for it. Scheduled for a release in October of 2009, the game will weave in and out of the Saw movie plotlines and will be an intricate collaboration between the development studio and the filmmakers. While this is really all the information we have on the title at the moment, we should note that the game will be running on the Unreal III engine and will likely be released on PS3 and 360.

Bah. I mean, seriously. What's the point? What are you supposed to do in the game? Torture other people or escape being tortured?

I don't think it will get released. If it does, it won't be good. I don't see how your going to translate the movie into a game.

I do. And the premise would be sickening. Don't get me wrong. I like the Saw movies, but to put it into game form and, more than likely, the whole point would be to torture people. That is just sick.

Never surrender!!!
...yeah, chasing them through the woods with a machete is much higher in the morality list :uhh:

That said, the game sounds pretty lame, the only way I can see it being interesting is if you have the vantage point of the victim and it's a puzzle-solving game kind of like the early Resident Evil's.

I have never played a game where I chase anyone with a machete through the woods.:uhh:

That's what I was thinking.

....but aren't you a big fan of the F.t.13th/Jason series?

Sure. Movies are just what they are, movies. There is no interaction. With a video game, you are put into whatever the game is about. You are doing the things on the screen. Yes, it is still fantasy either way, but I feel that Saw in video game format is just a little too much.

:yup: I agree.
I don't see how fun it could be to be the torturer. If it were a problem solving thing it could work out pretty well. I'd play it.

Dunno if it's been said but I really doubt the point of the game will be to be the bad guy and kidnap and torture people that is never the case in these games.

also games made after movies ALLWAYS SUCK ASS
