Damn. I hope insurance makes you whole. Double suck if the truck is your daily or work horse.

Looking to buy me replacement truck on Tuesday! It's down to 2...an 04 2500hd cclb lb7 duramax or an 08 2500hd ltz ext cab regular bed. Both are white. Friday I was dead set on buying the diesel but after seeing the 08 I had second thoughts. The diesel is 2wd and the 08 is 4wd and costs $3200 less. Decisions decisions...

That's a tough decision. I always think of future maintenance or repair expenses so I'd go for the 2wd diesel. Either way sounds like a good truck.

That's the thing though, the lb7 diesel is known for eating injectors. And it's a big job to replace them because they are in the valve cover. Some say it's best to remove the head. Also you have to run diesel clean to keep the fuel system healthy. Pretty sure I'm gonna buy the 08 with ly6 6l gas. ls engines are tough to beat and last forever if you take care of them.

Still waiting for the insurance to settle the trailer. They are putting me in a bind big time with that.

I would definitely go for the 6.0L. Diesels are expensive to repair like you said. The 6.0L is a great motor, We had one traded in at my work with 360k and it still ran great. They are easy to work on too for the most part.

Truck needs a bath but I'm loving this machine over my old truck lol. I've done pulled a 20' enclosed trailer for a friend a couple weeks ago and it pulls really nice. The truck feels so stable with a load vs my old truck.

It works. Spool was decent with the .96 at t4 housing also.

I'm stepping back into a precision 7275cea turbo. .81 at t4 to see if I can get it to hit a little harder out the hole. 7275#1.jpg 7275#2.jpg

Doing some work on it. I'm going to tear it all down, go through the engine and trans this winter. Relocate and delete a couple things to get weight off the nose of the car. I am looking into moving the engine back an inch but don't know if I can do that without replacing the drive shaft. IMG_20171224_160305305.jpg

Glad I decided to go through the engine this winter. Popped off the valve covers and found the first problem. Hope this is not a trend when I drop the oil pan. Only 3 of the exhaust rockers are making contact with the retainer. Think I found a fix with some 792 comp retainers. IMG_20180105_195828041.jpg IMG_20180107_110543116.jpg

Comp 792 retainers give me the clearance I need. Also made my own spring compressor. IMG_20180112_192335164.jpg IMG_20180112_191410471.jpg IMG_20180112_192326697.jpg
