Spare keys for 2003

    I recently made a spare key for my car. It works fine on all door locks and ignition. The problem is that the car won't start. Is there a chip in the factory key?

    you may need to take it to ford and have them make one for you

    yep, passive anti-theft..gotta have a key with a chip (thats programmed to match) to start the car

    i did not know that there was a chip in the key.. well man if it works on all the locks then just keep it in youre wallet that way if you lock the good key in the car you can still get to it

    yeah, '96 and up ford cars all have the coded keys
