I have a 2000 ford mustang V6. The starter will not crank, i thought it was the solenoid, we took it out and went and had it tested and it was still good. We put it back in and it started, the next day we went to start it and nothing. Bypassed the clutch switch, still nothing. Looking at the wiring diagram it looks like the only other thing it could be is the anti theft relay but the light does not flash when turning the key.. I am at a lost, thinking about a push button start next or at least screwdriver across the started terminals to see if that works.

I had to get a new solenoid for the same reason. The guts (contact surfaces) inside will carbon up over 17 years of use.
