Well, I decided to swap to an IRS. I've gotta say that the car rides so much smoother and handles a lot better as well. It was a pretty straight forward swap. I read some other threads and did not have some of the problems that they encountered. All I did was bolt up the brackets first, then the lower arms of the IRS, place in the springs, jack it up and align the upper arms and bolt them up. That was it. As far as the driveshaft, I kept my stock one, swapped the rear u-joint to a precision 448 u-joint from Napa. I also swapped the rear driveshaft yoke. Ford PN#F65Z4782AA. Then bolted the driveshaft back in place and installed the IRS exhaust and lowered the car. Total took me about 4 hours. Here are a few pics and more to come.

Did you use the driveshaft from your v8 swap? Just wondering because then wouldn't the u-joints and yoke you listed be different for someone with a stock v6 driveshaft?

Anyways, congrats on the install, nice work!

yes it's different, it'd be different even with a sohc dshaft, the IRS requires a cobra specific one IIRC.

Yeah, but if you swap the driveshaft yoke you can get your stock driveshaft to work. Am I correct ReaperStang?

Yeah, the ride is seriously amazing!! I was like  All I did was swap the rear driveshaft u-joint and the rear driveshaft yoke (part where it attaches to the pinion flange). It was fun and pretty easy. I definitely recommend if your looking for a smooth and comfortable drive.

4 hours? Mine didn't go so smooth ha. It took me and my buddy a week and a half to get it in. Damn thing was a tight fit. Congrats on the easy install and the new, improved ride

I got mine off a guy over on svtp. About a month ago, there were about 4-5 guys selling their IRSs' both from the 99-01s and the 03-04s. I would check there bc ebay is really expensive. I got mine for $450 and it has about 40K on it.
