I'm looking to swap my 04 automatic v6 mustang with a v8 engine. What engine would be best and what kind of modifications will I need to make?

Your decision to go into Hell is not worth it. Sell the V-6 and buy a V-8 is the best advise. Otherwise, major problems with the PCM and its tune, not to even mention the wiring harnesses.

Definitely a ton of work, not worth it, costs a lot of money (Unless you happen to have a GT Mustang already and all the free time in the world). For what I'm into taking my Mustang V6 into a nice daily I could have already purchased a GT... but it's a great gas saver!

You could do an LS swap. Or a 302w or 351w swap. Those are the easiest swaps.
