T-5 Tranny Rebuild

    How hard is it to rebuild a 1995 T-5 tranny? whats needed/involved with this... is there an instructional?

    i cant give u an insight on the know how but there is a kit for these t5 on summit racing for 249 plus shipping, i think when it comes to transmissions it be best to take it a shop

    not too hard. there is a t5 rebuild manual on the tremec site for free in PDF form.

    nah. IF your completely hopeless..then a shop would be a good idea.


    Its a pretty straight forward rebuild. I REALLY suggest you buy the VHS from Hanlon Motorsports (20 bucks) and gauge weather or not youd be able to do this. After watching the movie, I was convinced that is not that bad all to do. Just take your time and ask questions. Many on here have done the rebuild before including RiddleYo, Mattsdrag95 and I.

    Also there are two rebuilds, one with the syncros and bearings(about 200) and one just with the bearings(about 70-90). Or you can get new everthings (alloy gears, countershafts...etc) for about $2000 from astro perfromance. Also do a search..I posted picks of tranny guts not too long ago.
