Exactly the way I feel. Last time i was there, there was always something non poker related I had to be at. I missed a couple donkaments that I was really looking forward to play in because of it.

Going by yourself. :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Exactly. The only way I can gamble with a friend is if I know that they are willing to play for as long as me. If you can't play for 8 hours, I don't want to drive to the casino with you.

Having time alone to do what you want FTW.

Played a 5 handed deep stack $200 buy in last night. Shippp it.

Nice.

I went to the casino Saturday night. I honestly don't know why. I know the players there are idiots, but I went anyways.

Anyways, i couldn't get seated right away so I played blackjack for a while.

Then my name was called for poker. Jesus Christ. I've been playing there for 6 years, but good God.

I don't even remember the specifics of these hands, but it was sick. The first hand I was barreling through pocket aces. I mean, bet, raise, raise, etc. on every street. Not one, but 2 people caught their flush on the river.

The second memorable hand was when I turned a wheel. The board was AK25, and I 3-bet. Now, it should be noted that I was playing pretty tight at this point. The last three times I showed down a hand I had KK, QQ, and AK off. Anyways, I had three-bet when I turned a wheel. A dude that had already called one bet called 2 more. The river is an offsuit jack. Dude checks, I bet, he raises, and to even call the raise I was all in. Flips over QT. I figured it was standard.

I was playing rock solid the whole night and the dude calls 3 big bets with a gutshot. I was just sick. That's probably one of the reasons I don't play at that casino very often.

On the plus side, I more than made up for my poker losses at the blackjack tables. I hadn't played in a while, but it's definitely a fun game.

I was wondering about it like a week ago, but do either of you guys (Taylor or Matt, since you're the only other two that read this thread) subscribe to any poker publications?

I don't currently, but I do read the big titles when I go to the casino (AKA, Card Player, Poker Pro, etc. .

I was just curious. I don't pay any attention to the the name on the cover when I read them, but there seems to be some interesting articles out there.

If you have input I would appreciate it.

I subscribe to Bluff. It's very cheap considering the cover price. ($24.95 for 12 issues IIRC).

Never really liked Card Player but i'll pick one up every once in a while if bored at work and want something to read.

Anyways, I'm very excited about the new laws down here in Florida. I can finally play 2/5 without having to figure out a 20BB strategy.

On a side note - My buddy (Not gonna put his name out there) so far has struck out in about 14 events this WSOP. He was one of the 191 in the 25k 6max and was at Durrr's table (along with Mrsmokey1) and busted after the first dinner break. I think he told me he is like 4/36 AIPF for the series. He has a few horses in the ME and alot of action in about 8 or 10 guys, plus himself. Hopefully he comes back with some loot or final tables the ME so you guys can see my face screaming like Cada's crew.

ESPN starts (started?) their WSOP coverage tonight. Just a heads up.

i missed it and forgot to DVR it...

Was playing poker.

Also, I figured out last night that my "Live" hourly over the past 3 years is about $44.50 an hour. Pretty proud with that number.

Well, at least you have a good excuse.

I have it DVR'd, but I did see a few minutes of it. It was the 50k 8-game, but apparently they are just showing the final table.

I thought I remember hearing that they are only showing a few events this year, so why half-ass it? The ME is cool and everything, but geez.

So you're saying you've played like 5 hours of live poker in the last 3 years? :p

Not bad.

I use Hold 'Em Manager. Works great. I can't say that I know a whole lot about PT. I'm sure there's like 5 million comparison threads on poker sites though.

I just googled "hold em manager vs poker tracker" and it seems quite a few posters on a different site say that the functionality of HEM is better, and that they have better customer support should you ever need it. They are the same price for the "full" versions.

i'll probably try both of them. buddy uses poker tracker and says i'll get a 60 day trial. he's allowed to install on multiple machines so we'll see if i can use his full version.

HEM gives a 2 week trial period I think. You can also install the full version on 2 machines.

Well, I'm officially now being backed 100%.

I've never done this before and never really considered it. I'm pretty good at managing money and have never had bankroll management issues so getting staked was never really in my mind.

Recently (within the last year and a half) I purchased my first house, at 19 years old. This was pretty much made possible because of poker. I slowly figured out that there are alot of expenses in a new home. New floors, furniture, big screen tvs, landscaping, appliances, etc.

Anyways, I spent about 20k of my poker roll to accomplish this. I have an awesome house to show for it but only about 8k left for poker. Not a big deal, I dont play 25/50 or anything but I cant comfortable sit at a 5/10 table anymore because I cant really afford the wrong side of variance right now. Instead of moving down is limits, I've just kind of taken a break.

Then this little miracle pops up. Full back with no makeup at a 70/30 clip. Pretty standard but I will have zero risk now while playing and will be playing higher than normal eventually (1k MTT's - 2knl & 5knl)

Pretty excited to say the least. Wish me luck.

Is your backer willing to take on a limit player? Probably in the 15/30-25/50 range? :taylor:

Sounds like a sweet deal. Good luck dude.

So what does this guy do? Give you money to play with? What happens if you never win? Question mark?
