Depends on the tires and the car I'm driving.

    Slicks? Launch that bitch

Street tires, you have to feel the car out. Some just won't hook on street tires. I usually do a fast slip on street tires, but some cars hook ok with a low rpm launch.

I had slicks and I would launch at 3000-3500 and when I would it would grip good but they it would bog out like if the traction was on and I took it off completely held it down for 10seconds

Its would bogg out at 3500 you don't think it'd bogg out at higher rpms

I launched my fox body Mustang off my MSD rev limiter set at 6500 rpm's when I was on slicks.

Its just like when you learned to drive a manual trans for the first time; if you don't give it enough throttle when you start to release the clutch, it stalls out. Same thing with launching it; if you are not reving the engine high enough to put the engine into its power band and you dump the clutch, its gonna bog.

Try it...... Just know that launching a car with slicks over time will wreak havoc on your drivetrain. I smoked several clutches, broke an axle, broke a transmission, and cracked the torque boxes in my 90 LX from launching it at the track over the course of a couple years.

    Part of the game.
