Thanks people… just do what i can… hey, does anybody know of any other “How-To’s”..??

i keep a folder in favorites just for “How-to’s” and another with mustang related links…

hey, i’ve done a “How-To” myself, on the making of your own 99-04 aluminum hood & side scoop inserts from rain cutter material available at HomeDepot for approx. $1.50. it’s complete text with pictures… but i need somebody to format and host it, or show/tell me how i can do it myself… it’s a Microsoft word document, 1.64MB… any advice would be appreciated.

It’s really too bad 3.8 don’t host these..!!!

thanks Hell_Razor… a lot of people were completely unaware that these were even here… misc. installation articles = http://www.3.8mustang.com/articles/

i was wondering if i should break down a direct link with brief description to every individual “how-To” in these links above and just post it in a thread labeled “How-To’s”…??

    what do you think….??

i could request “no posting to the thread to keep it easy to read” and just use it as a reference. then keep it bumped to keep it current and available… and as I said before, doing a search for “How-To” would bring it up for who ever needed it..!! let’s get the master list complete with all known "How-To's" to date..!!

    Mr. B

hey if they won't listen to our suggestions, we'll just do it ourselves...
where should the ''How-To's" be posted..?? I was thinking of coping the exact same thread in every category... that would get somebody’s attention, don't you think..??

If you guys want a how-to section then write a good one complete with lots ofpictures and step by step instruction, include any problems you may have had. Post it in the correct forum category. PM the mods of that section and ask them to sticky it. Very simple!

That's the way we've always done it! ;)

Yah we could use more how to's, but I wouldn't want to put them on the message board since it's purpose is really to converse and ask questions. I also don't really want to link to other sites since i don't want to have links to actual content depend on some one elses administrative decisions. If people start writing their own how to's that are well written and documented with pictures, I will definitely write a new page outside the forums to house them and create an annoucement to the articles page in the appropriate forums.

I think the biggest problem with all the how-to's is just that people are not aware of them. I never new there were any on the start up page? I'm all for having a how to forum, especially for really technical things like swapping a cam, heads, etc. I've also noticed a lot of people requesting info on split port swaps and I am working on somewhat of a write up on that to submit since I'm doing the swap myself. As soon as I buy a digital camera I'm going to take pictures of everything for it too.

a how to forum would be really helpful, especially in forum format, because then you are able to ask questions about little things that might not be covered in the how-to. and requests could be made for other how tos, and people could post there own how to's without having to submit them to the site and get them put on a page.

Hey beetlejuice, do you have a how-to for replacement of the windshield washer fluid reservoir?

I stored my stang for the winter and must have left water in the reservoir back in the fall. Anyways I just went to add water and it came out the bottom as fast as I poured it on top! Looks like I have a major leak - probably the water bottle burst when the water in it froze in the winter.

    Thanks

Are you serious Saddleup? It must be a hell of a job pulling the fender..

You're talking about pulling the body fender over the left front wheel are you? Just to replace a windshield washer bottle? Holy FXXCK!

My CHECK ENGINE SOON light came on a few days ago. When I put the code reader on it, it gave me P0455 code which represents "evaporative emission control system leak detected (gross leak)". Since I can see no other leaks, can smell no gasoline, don't have a loose gas cap, or anything else that might be causing that error code, I am assuming that the washer bottle leak is causing the P0455 error. It definitely is a "gross" leak! But apart from that I don't see what it has to do with emissions! Does this make any sense to anyone? Is this leak likely causing my error P0455?

Actually, you could prolly just pull the splash shield out and it would be right there.
