Well, I think Silver2000Stang (something like that) was running 14.8's or so with a bolt-on Auto, so that would be faster than the fastest time for a stock auto '05+, which, as far as I know, is 15.0.

So, CAN a bolt-on 99-04 Auto be faster than a stock '05+ Auto? Yeah.

The fastest I've seen a 05+ V6 auto do is a 15.0, so yes with full bolt on's and gears 99-04 auto's are faster.

Guys, I think he's really asking is what mods would it take to win (hope I'm right).

If you look at Justin's latest thing on the 05 stang he got like 215rwhp after just muffler; cai and ecu tune. Maybe that will be enough to match a full bolt on 02 auto... the gears; not so sure because 4.10's kick it hard.

Someone help me out on this one.

IMO, you. the 05+'s are also heavier.... though I am jealous of their superior turning radius.

ya their heavier but there suspension makes up for it. i drove one and i am jelous of their suspension it hooks well.

plus full bolt-on 02 mustang will be around 200rwhp, a stock 05 should be less around like 175rwhp or so i think not sure.

i ran a 14.799 with bolt-ons and 198rwhp. but my 60" was only 2.1. so if you get better than that 60" you should be in the mid 14's. it is hard though because as i am finding out are crankshafts are very light and that hurts low end troque off the line.

if you lift the 3.8 crankshaft then lift a 4.2 crankshaft the 4.2 is way heavier and has more force down low.

    we snoop dogg is from
stock 05's dyno about 186-190 rwhp stock the 06+ dyno a little higher because there hp comes with about 10 to 15 more at the flywheel and off the line the 05+ are way quicker than the 99-04 v6's so i think it'd be a close race but the shift points on the 05+ are so much quicker that id take the 05+ hands down

and im not just saying that because i drive one if you can test drive a 05+ v6 you'll see what i mean, then drive a 99-04 v6 and see the difference in the shifting the 05's shifts are almost invisible because they happen so fast.

didnt have manifold spacer or clutch adjuster.

yes had aluminum drive shaft and t-lock/3.73's. and UDP.

didnt have LT's at that time. these engine hit a peak at around 200rwhp because of the cam.

    ran the time with a 2.1 60ft.

From what I've read: the striaght line advantage of the 05+ (besides engine output) would be the gearing; rear and trany. In corners it's a different story with the suspension. So gears/tlok and an Xcal trany adjustment should negate the 05+'s advantage there.

the new mustangs are just better. better output, better handling, better ride quality, the only thing 99+ have is looks the new stangs are ugly as a road kill!

99-04 are lighter and a better gauge layout.

So with an Xcal trany adjust and a J-mod for good messures, a full bolt-on 99-04 should take a stock 05+ in straight line performance. There ya go.:D

Ive gotten to drive a few 05-06 v6's and gt's, but the only one i got to push hard was my cousins (flyboy06) 06 with the pony package and drop in filter, dual exhaust with no crossover and a tune....and it didnt feel that fast, but ford did a pretty good job with the suspension in the new ones, handles wayyy better than mine with my suspension goodies, thus im switching to h&r's with bilsteins, fl sfc's, and different swaybars to see how we do against eachother at the track in may :)

Their main handling advantage is chasis stiffness and the panhardbar. If you kept your current setup and got a set of FL SFCs and a Panhardbar or TQ Arm rear suspension setup you'd notice a huge difference.
