Sup all, Me and a buddy went to autozone to get a new serpentine belt and exhaust manifold gaskets today. And I pull into the parking lot today and see a mustang, so i park next to him lol. And When i get out i take a glance over at the fellow stang. And im confused. I look on the right side and see the 35th aniversary logo, w/ svt logo and also a 5.8 logo. Right away i laugh...... alot. But it gets worse when i go around the rear i almost fell (not on ice) i also see a roush performance badge, w/ a gt badge/ a supercharged AND!! turbocharged tag. WTF IS THIS. does this guy really believe hes got all that. What is this about lol. I have a badge or two on ym car, but 3.8 and V6 doesnt sound as bad as the 1 of 1 production run of the roush performance cobra gt 5.8 w/ turbo/super charger. lol Ima start carrying around a camera.

anyone got pics of these guys

ps. it was a normal v6 w/ single exhaust and a second exhaust tip, it wasnt conected to nething tho lol

Well, back when I was a younger chap, I thought misbadging was cool. I used to sport an SVT badge on the rear along with an SCT badge though the SCT was legit. I've long since had just about everyone who has seen my car yell at me about it so I got it fixed.

But anyway, people can misbadge for a lot of reasons, here are a few reasons I had back in the day:

    1. Make people think you have a better car than you actually do. This was really popular in my highschool. People would have a bunch of "Type R" badges on import cars that never had Type R versions haha.

    2. Some badges look pretty cool. Like the SVT badge I had, I really liked it because it was all 3d and chrome.

    3. It's preparation for future plans. He may want to stick a 5.8 in there at some point and then set it up with FI, but I think that's kinda cheap. It's like saying you have such and such degree from college even though you still have a few years left. Yeah you're gonna get it, but don't say you have it until you do.

Anyway, yes, people do it a lot and they shouldn't. The other day I saw a completely stock GT with roush badges all over it. So either he's gonna get himself a kit and such and make a clone.... or he's just BSing.

I love it when I see miss-badged stangs.
It's a real ego boost for me. Seeing a stock sixer with cobra symbols and GT badge is always a welcome sight. Cuz in the end, anyone that knows ANYTHING about cars, knows that guy is a moron.

232 / 3.8 badges look badass IMO. But I like my 35th Anns. on the side, so I'll put a 3.8 or a 232 or a SCT (once it arrives) on the back.

Is it wrong for me to want to put the V6's stock pony emblems on the side of the car in place of the GT badges?

Unless the turbo quiets the car WAY down, I doubt if anyone's gonna believe it's a V6. :D... but I'd say you're welcome to put on V6 badges. It's not like you'd be disrespecting the V6 by doing so

I had a pre99 non-PI GT with one-piece chrome projectors and that emblem on the trunk trying to get me to race him. As far as I could tell, those were his only mods.

God I'd love to take that guy to school. My stock could probably take him (I'm a damn fine driver, manual tranny ftw!)

True... but I doubt anyone's gonna confuse it for either.

V6 because it obviously sounds like a V8

Mach 1 because besides the V8 sound and the badges, there are no other Mach 1 attributes. No Mach 1 badges, no shaker, and no Mach-specific design cues.

Either way, he won't be an embarassment to the V6 OR the Mach :D
